Here's a sneak-peek read of "Two Visitors" for you to enjoy!
The rock was fuzzy under Skunkditta’s padded feet. Rabbitto still sat in the corner, unmoving. With a deep breath she went over to him and sat down by his side.
"There is always a chance, you know." she calmly whispered.
"Not much." he replied as he fluffed up his fur. His eyes began to water. "When I get out of here… I am going to rip him to pieces."
"You know, the King does not have an arm." Skunkditta looked over to him, changing the subject on purpose.
"And." Rabbitto nonchalantly answered back.
"He’s been to the surface at least once because he said he lost it to a weed-whacker."
Rabbitto looked exhausted. His eyelids were heavy.
"You have not slept…" Skunkditta replied. "Get some rest. I will keep watch."
Rabbitto shot her a thankful glance as he closed his eyes to sleep.
Time went slowly for Skunkditta as he tossed in unrest. She almost began to count desserts and go to sleep herself.
"One scoop of ice cream, two drops…no gallons of hot fudge, three…" she almost lost herself to her dreams.
Something stopped her. She grunted and rolled over on her side. "Voices." she whispered.
"Rabbitto, get up! They are here." she rolled over to him, getting off of her side.
Rabbitto ears twitched as he began to wake. The tattooed toads appeared in an orderly fashion of two in front and six behind those. Each carried a torch at hand. Behind them were two brawny soldiers. One unlocked the cell’s door as the other one walked in to retrieve the prisoners.
As promised, Rabbitto growled under his breath, clawed the air and pounced like a cat, but the toad just laughed.
The soldier toad leered in to grab the back of Skunkditta’s neck. "Ekk!" Skunkditta squealed as the toad missed her but grabbed her tail instead. "Let go you big wart!" she screamed, as he pulled her to the door.
Rabbitto’s eyes enlarged as he leaped up in the air. His fur flew as he kicked the toads face.
"Agog!" the toad moaned as he grabbed his face, blood trickling down, but in an instant he picked up both Rabbitto and Skunkditta and dragged them to the door.
"Dumb pests!" the toad winced as blood from his scratched face dripped from him.
"Lets go." he ordered his team of toads back up the stairs and into the room above.

Banners hung above the walls as the toad threw the two prisoners in front of the King. He sat upon a chair high above the rest of the creatures, red and gold linens hung from the cushions. Two chairs were in front of the King’s ‘tower’.
Trink looked down upon them both and said, "Ha, there you are." He swung his one good arm around.
"Let the games begin!"
